Electronic projects -Xbox 360 VGA/Composite Dongle

Xbox 360 VGA/Composite Dongle: The reason why I made this dongle was, that I wanted to make a small, but usefull dongle for my beloved Xbox360 with all the necessary connections. I needed to connect my pc screen through VGA, but I also needed to connect the xbox to the TV screen with the composite connection (You can see all necessary wirering on this website)

This is how I made the dongle:class="style44">   I started with tearing a DVI2VGA dongle apart     because i needed the VGA connector.   Then I took the original Microsoft scart adaptor and opened it.   And I desoldered the SCART part   This is some of the plugs necessary: The Xbox 360 plug - scavenged from an old xbox 360 cable, the phono and composite ports and the VGA port. I later removed the metal shell on the plug to get more room.   I also kept some of the cable from the old Xbox cable.     I needed to remove the plastic shell of one of the phono ports, so there was room for the VGA port.   Then I soldered longer cables on the vga port and the phono port   After that, I soldered the VGA port on the XBOX plug...   and soldered a switch, so you can change between composite and VGA   I needed to make the composite cable longer, so I soldered a cable to this..   and later added some crimp tubing to avoid short cuts.   Then were done with the soldering :) I needed to make room for the VGA port, so I grinded a hole with my multitool.   I also grinded a hole for the switch.   Then placed all the parts in the SCART shell and glued them in place   I also closed the XBOX360 plug with some solder   Before I glued the dongle shut, I tested it, and it worked perfectly :)

There you have it: One nearly genuine dongle to give your box higher resolution!
